Reaching this milestone is a testament to the dedication and service excellence that Providence Place is known for.
125 years – That number should instill a sense of pride and profound accomplishment. For a century and a quarter, we at Providence Place have excelled in providing top-notch care and services to all those who we serve in the community. This year, we honor those who have played a part in our success and also to our beloved founder, Mary Volino.
Our organization started from humble beginnings: A woman with a desire in her heart to make a change for the better and to help other women who had nowhere to turn. It was her newfound relationship with God that guided her toward a path that has benefitted generations of people who live all over the place. We are the embodiment of her vision and her lifelong dream. Her sacrifice, love, and devotion cemented her place in history and a legacy that we hold near and dear to our hearts.
The leaps and bounds we have made since 1895 are truly astounding! Our Adoption and Foster Care Program remains steadfast in its mission to provide hope for families who desire to open their hearts and homes to a child in need. Our Parenting Program continues to be a guiding light and source of education towards better parenting. My Mariposa Home has blossomed and continues to thrive as they offer a safe haven and trauma-informed care for women who are survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic abuse. As we celebrate this landmark anniversary, we will also be embarking on a new chapter in the book of Providence Place. We are proud and excited to announce that in March we opened a new residential program that provides transitional housing for young women who have aged out of the foster care system. This new program will prepare these young ladies to succeed in their future endeavors and their journey into the “real world.”
We want to take this time to truly thank all of you who have given support to us throughout the years. To say that we would not be here today without you would be a gross understatement. Your devotion to our mission has helped fund programs that change the lives of so many. We know that it is through God’s will and the generosity of His people that we are allowed to keep pursuing excellence and His word. From each and every staff member at Providence Place: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our story.
